Switzerland: Cost of living in Switzerland:

Ariel, I have been in Switzerland (Luzern) for about 1 month as a relocation with work. A few notes regarding costs from my work travels in country and my experience at home base. Living in Switzerland is expensive, 4-5CHF for coffee, dinner for two anywhere from 50CHF and up. Fuel for a car unleaded averages out to $7.00 plus per gallon, milk is well over $5.00 per gallon. Beef isnot good and is very costly well over $10.00 per pound. Do not be swayed by this as living here is a joy everyday and you can live well but you must readjust your thoughts and ways. Switzerland: Work permit in Switzerland:

John, I am moving from the states and am int he process of getting my permit. The Swiss Embassy web site has good info on teh process in their visa section. They advertise 4-6 week turn around time but my company has found int eh past it is 8-12 weeks. Al

Switzerland: Moving to Lucerne as well!:

When are you moving? I think that we will be moving in April or May depending on Visa's and such. We have no childern left at home all in college but hopefully we may be able to help each other with issues and share ideas. We have lived in Spain for 51/2 years awhile back and loved Europe.
