Oman: Relocating to Oman:
Hi - I will be relocating to Muscat to work in late March. I'm a married female, but will be coming alone as my husband is staying in the UK.
I echo some of the questions already asked about things for women to do re: socialising, etc.
But more specifically - is it true that I need a "letter of no objection" from my husband in order to get an Oman driving licence?
Also, as a working woman will I be able to buy alcohol and get a liquor licence? I've read lots of unclear things about women buying alcohol.
Any other useful tips always welcome - like finding somewhere to live!!
Thanks!
United Kingdom: Moving to Oman:
Hi - I'm relocating to Muscat in March to work. I am a married female but will be living in Oman on my own...
I've heard that I will need my husband's "letter of no objection" to obtain a driving licence - is this correct?
Also - is it true that even though I'm working, that as a married female I won't be able to buy alcohol/obtain a liquor licence? I can't get a clear picture on what the deal is for woman and alcohol!
Any help/advice much appreciated!
Thanks.
