Before you go abroad just do your homework first.Check out as many things as you can about where you wanna live/retire such as cost of living, safety, expat population, crime rate, weather conditions, cost of food, apartments, rentals, home ownership, ect.Just"do your homework"Thats what I have done and havent had any major problems.Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best!Good luck to all!

Philippines: Pure raw organic honey:

I am looking for pure organic raw unpasterized honey. I have been using CEMS Prime Brand for 2 years now and sm supermarket no longer stocks it. I went online to check it out and appears CEMS is a fraud and just a sugar blend as was stated online by multiple comments made from people who have used it. Anyone here know of where I can get some good honey in Baguio City,Benquet province or near-by or if there is a distributor who delivers to Baguio? Please send private message. Thanks Jimmy in Baguio 0942 0000 926

Philippines: Permanent residency:

Well I am not sure what you can do accept re-marry your Pinay ex-wife to gain permanent residency status. If you have skills or talents of interest to Philippines you can get a quota visa which allows you permanent immigrant residency.Thats what I did and I used my teaching background as a qualification.I was granted my quota visa last month and only have annual trips to immigration now(300 pesos) instead of the 60 day runs.(3800 pesos a trip)No need to make 3 year exit runs out of the country and I-card good for 5 years(50 usd).Just check out the info on the immigration web-sight under QUOTA VISAS.Good luck! God bless the USA and God bless the wonderful people of the Philippines.Jimmy in Baguio City

Philippines: Quota visa:

I am an American expat(67) retired now in Baguio city since Aug 2012.I am filing my application in Manila on May 18th next week for a quota visa based on my teaching background.I have consulted an attorney and have all my docs prepared.Does any one know the specifics of this QV?Is it good indefinitely as long as I teach? If I stop teaching English is it cancelled? Can I teach part time or full time?None of this is explained online at BI website so I really dont know.I dont wanna spend 20,000 pesos for the application fee and then not be approved as the application fee is non-refundable.Please reply at my email jlewellen2003@yahoo.com and name is Jimmy.Have a nice day!

Philippines: Quota visa:

Anyone had any luck getting a quota visa with a teaching background(I am a USA licensed English teacher) (Stipulation:skills/talents of interest to the phiippines) This is in leau of the 50,000 usd required investment in a phiippines bank. Please respond to my private email.Thanks-Jimmy in Baguio City

Philippines: Quota visa:

RAC-I am aware of the reqirements, ect and have contacted an attorney in Makati at Kittleson and Carpo. She wants 67,000 plus the 20k processing fee.I am hung up on a few things like the quarantine stamp,NBI clearance and NICI.Can you email me at my private email so I can ask you a few questions.Name isJimmy and jlewellen2003@yahoo.com and thanks for your time!

Philippines: Rossana Briones:

Just want everyone to ease up on Rossana.I dont know if she is real or not but I am leaning toward real. She has offered to help me procure a quota visa here in the philippines which will stop my 60 day trips to immigration.I have spoken to her recently and we will meet in Manila and go to immigration together to obtain my qv.If she doesnt show then she is not real.If she shows then its the real deal.I will keep you posted. Please no more bad comments about her and lets wait and see.God bless America and God bless the good and honest people of the Philippines.Jimmy in Baguio

Philippines: Quota visa acquistion:

Has anyone here received there quota visa being qualified to receive one because they had skills/talents of interest to the Philippines?I have been informed that i qualify for this visa because of my teaching background with 7 years teaching ESL(English as a second language) in Korea atboth public and private schools(all ages) and 2 years at a university in China. Sure seems like there are a lot of forms to fill out and procedures to follow. The good part is it just takes 23 days processing time when accepted. I am willing to pay an attorney or qualified person to help me with this as i live in Baguio City and have been doing the 2 month trips to immigration for the past 2 years and its getting to be a pain in the butt.Anyone with knowledge about this please email me on my private email jlewellen2003@yahoo.com and i will truly appreciate any and all help. Thanks for your time.....Jimmy in Baguio and you can also add me to yahoo messenger- my email will get you added.Skype is jimmylewis69

Philippines: How to transfer my money:

Its a simple process. After you are settled in philipines open a savings account ( peso account) at BPI(Bank of Philippines Islands) Then initate the wire bank transfer from the USA or other country and have the funds trnsferred to BPI.Then use ATM to get $ weekly or as needed from your pesos account. If you have soc sec directly deposited into BPI instead of a bank in USA or other county have that account as a usa dollar account.I just take $ from my soc sec account every 3 months and transfer it in pesos to peso account and live on that.Try to exchange when the pesos are at a high to the us dollar so you get more peso for the dollar.Email me on my private emai if you wanna know about seting up a soc sec account which you will need to get an applicatinfrorm from BPI bank and they send it to manila.Takes 1-3 months to establish th soc sec account at BPI.Dont bother with USA soc sec office.Good luck in the Philippines....Jimmy in Baguio city

Philippines: Questions about dating:

I agree with you.I wont look at an American woman also. They are confused, spoiled, demanding and other adjectives too numerous to mention. My Pinay and I have been together almost 2 years (now Aug 2014) and she has never asked me for a dime although I will occassionally volunteer $ when its practicle. Her mom runs a lime orchard by herself and the help of a daughter and son and she doesnt hae a decent bed to sleep on so I got her a 3,000 peso bed for her birthday so she doesnt have to sleep on the very uncomfortable wooden bed- My gf andI slep on it when we visited(The one timeI was there)She works hard and lives in a shack with dirt floors anddeserves to havea nice bed to sleep in after working all day without a husband to help.As far as the commens by others everyone should always be careful in this country and always be aware that there are good people and bad and we have to "learn" how to distinguish between the two.Bottom line is people use each other for various reasons.Always be careful-Look both ways before you cross the street.(sensible metaphor) May god bless the USA and may he also bless the "good" people of the Philippines.
