Lithuania: Are Lithuanian women the most beautiful in the world?:
In my opinion, they definitely are.And I miss seeing them.
Lithuania: cost of living:
Again, Mr Breeze, you are referring to the worst type of apartments available in Vilnius. There are many developments very affordble all over the city that compare to any capital city, albeit a touch on the small side.I lived for a while in an apartment in Jeruzale and it was equivalent to aything I have lived in Dublin in terms of being modern.Dublin also has its rough apartments similar to any other capital city.
Lithuania: Starting a business in LT:
On this topic, I would have to agree with you.Whilst my knowledge isn't as indepth as your own, I do know from talking to Lithuanians that the taxation system in particular is not particularly pro business.Given that Lithuania needs all the new start up companies it can get, its politicians need to have a serious look at creating a more pro business environment for both indigenous and foreign owned businesses.
Lithuania: Job Websites for foreigners looking for work in Vilnius:
I was just wondering what websites I could refer to in seeking employment in Vilnius.I have read the other contributors talking about limited job opportunities for foreigners in Lithuania but I am still holidng out hope. Thanks
Lithuania: My fellow Americans:
I worked for a year teaching Eglish in Vilnius but I registered ith no one.Was I illegal? How long can you can stay in Vilnius as a tourist? I agree with you totally about Lithuanian landlords-you have to be very careful with them as they will screw you for everything given the chance
Lithuania: Housing in Vilnius:
I would have to say that the question about real estate prices was a reasonalbe one as was the question about the cost of living.I would be interested in finding out the cost of an apartment 60 square metres approx in the Jeruzale area of Vilnius.Any advice greatly appreciate
Lithuania: Expats in Vilnius?:
Mr Breeze,
I think you are being far too harsh on Vilnius, Lithuania and Lithuanian people.I am not saying that I dont agree with some things that you mention but sure you can see the negatives with any city or country.Rather than criticizing every aspect of Lithuania, it would be fairer to give a more balanced view including the positives as well.Aand yes, there are positives with this country and people as well.If your experience has been a bad one granted, but it doesn't necessaril mean that everyone will have the same experience. As for expats meeting regularly, there is a small group of Irish people who meet regularly including the Irish ambassador in Vilnius. And no, the Irish ambassador is not a snob or pretentious in any way
