Mexico: Gas stations closed:

Rumors abound of course...sort through them and see what looks like truth. People are angered at the 20% hike...of course, inflation will follow. Rumor #1... EPN says Calderon is to blame. Sec. of Finance was on TV.. when asked to explain why PEMEX, which recently opened up staions in Houston are selling gas in the USA cheaper than in Mexico he went round and round in circles and explained nothing, The Mexicans say he was Cantininflear... (doubletalk). Rumor #2... I heard Mexicans saying that the looters in Central states were from Chihuahua and they were hired by the Govt. to loot as a coverup to draw attention away from the problem. (Could be. Argentina started a war in the Malvinas to distract people)... Rumor #3 ... Friends in Tabasco tell me they were offered 400 to 800 pesos to join in the looting. ........................................ Seems like things are quieter today. I can understand looting if youre starving but I watch the videos and see people stealing TV's and Toys. No. Something stinks. ..... I think the PRI party will lose BIG TIME next election. ................................... Note: I'm not leaving... I lived through Tlatelolco and I thought that was worse. Viva La Revolution !!!

Mexico: Puebla:

Also, every once in awhile it gets dusted by popocatepetls volcano. But it is a very advanced modern city where you can find anything you need, Universities, Doctors and entertainment.

Mexico: US State Dept:

MexJuan1... Don't let them browbeat you. I've been here 49 years, I was in Tlatelolco in 68 smelled the teargas...but I had been in Chicago a short time before and smelled the teargas there also. The Embassy is NOT for poor Americans, They are FOR Corporations. Warnings are basically propaganda, half truths, misinformation and Disinformation. Yes there's danger here, not as much as in the USA, Thanks to Obama allowing ILLEGAL GUNS to be sent to MEXICO. Looks like the Politicos want to destabilize the country. I stopped listening to the Embassy reports long ago. If these naysayers are so worried why don't they move to New York? Houston, Chicago, L.A. ??? Read between the lines of all those negative reports... (That's an art and it takes intelligence to figure out what is REALLY going on) For the most part its all about money.

Mexico: Residency requirements more strict?:

Things change, mostly its about money now. I came down during the Olympics, All you needed was a birth certificate or a voters card, Now you pay anentrance fee about $25 dollars, before tourist cards were free. Also before you could come in as a tourist and work things out with Immigration in Mexico, Now you have to go to a Consulate in the States and show how you are going to support yourself before you come. And I expect Trump may put up a few barriers other than the wall to keep Americans from leaving. Already its a costly venture. The iron curtain is descending.

Mexico: Mexican landlord woes:

I suggest taking lease and receipts to PROFECO (Protection Federal of Consumers) and see what they have to say.

Mexico: Tired of living in Mexico?:

To paraphrase Robert Heinlein: "A stranger in a strange land". The California peninsula, occupied for the most part by Californians, that in itself is enough to make it Never neverland, who will be unassimilated residents until (1) The money runs out, (2) they get fed up with the natives because they refuse to fit into the correct mold or (3) they're homesick.

Mexico: Trumps Visit:

I listened to the interview. All I heard was hot air. But what the public gets to hear and what's said in private are two different things. As far as the general public is concerned Trump is an insulting big mouth and Enrique is a man who makes deals under the table..... Both crooks do Real Estate deals. The important thing in Mexico (and the USA) is to learn to read between the lines.

Mexico: Shipping 65" 4K TV from USA to Mexico:

Why torture yourself? Sell it and buy one in Mexico. Do you know that Mexico is the worlds largest makers of flat screen TV.'s ? I can just see this getting cracked in shipment... maybe you think..."I'lll insure it", Oh yes try wading through that swamp of red tape.

Mexico: spuld I go for it and start I new life south of the border ?:

You forgot to mention Bank Robbery... But your right working here isnt easy. You really have to be a sharp entrepreneur to make it and usually that requires capital to start a business. Not impossible but highly improbable.

Mexico: A place to call home:

Check out Tlaxcala... close to Puebla and just 3 hours from Mexico City.. Lowest crime rate in Mexico.
