About SandTiger

I grew up in Saudi Arabia but moved to the US as soon as I graduated from High-school. I lived in the US (Portland, OR) for 12 years before recently coming back to Saudi. I'm 31 years old, tall, athletic, and very social. I'm a single parent to a smart and very active 5 yr old boy. I work for an international consulting company. So far, the hardest thing about the transition to Saudi is how hard it is to do simple things that I used to take for granted. Oh, and being a single parent in this country is not an easy thing to do. :) Feel free to drop me a line to say hi, I always enjoy meeting new people and one can never have too many friends. :)

Saudi Arabia: Advice needed...:

Hi, I just moved to Saudi (Khobar/Dammam) three months ago from the US with my 5yr old son. We don't live on a compound given that I'm also Saudi not just American and my company will not pay for a compound housing. I'm having a very hard time finding activities for him to do where he can meet/interact with other kids who also speak English. He missed the school registration for this year and we are looking at a few months before the new school year starts. Anyone got any advice on where to take him or what to do around this area? Any regular events or playgroups for kids close to his age? Any help is greatly appreciated, he is very active and social and this is making him very unhappy.
