Brazil: Looking for English Teachers:

I am a U.K national living in London. Although I am not a qulaified teacher I am a native English speaker who has studied up to Degree level (have not completed Degree). I am interested in gaining international experience of working abroad for a short while. Would you please advise as to whether I would be of any use to your programme in Brasil? I would also like to learn some Brasilian Portuguese as well. Please would you also advise me if the work is paid? Kind regards Tony brotee_@hotmail.com

Brazil: African Americans in Brazil:

I'm Black British born of Caribbean parents. I visited Brazil in 2009. I literally tripped over two people sleeping under cardboard boxes in the streets of Rio. BOTH poor black teenagers. We got it hard there and we are mostly at the bottom of the pile. 'Try before you buy' by all means as no two experiences are the same. But the way I see it, Africa is the new land of opportunity. Most African economies are on the rise. I would recommend you visiting either Ghana, Gambia/Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya/Uganda, Angola. Not saying its paradise and the infrastructure needs to be built up (the Chinese have realised this and they are 'colonising' Africa in return for minerals). I have been to South Africa 3 times and it is time the Black diaspora started rediscovering Africa. I know a white woman from London who loves The Gambia so much she is about to relocate there this month to teach.

Global Expat Forum: Where a foreigner can own land:

We've just bought in South Africa in our own names and we live in the U.K?

Global Expat Forum: Brazil CROOKS AND THIEF COUNTRY !:

Well we were there last year. We went to Salvador to see the buildings and history etc. A 'registered Guide' grabbed us before we could say "no thanks we will look ourselves" took us around for a couple of hours befriending my 7 year old etc. Then tried to clean us out of a couple hundred U.S Dollars for the 'privilege'!!!

Global Expat Forum: Also Considering a Move Outside the US:

Bro, I don't know if you have moved on from this post but I would recommend you go see South Africa for yourself? I'm a Black British guy who has been there a couple of times and now own land there. I too wish to leave Europe with my family in the future. Listen SA has it's problems but it has GREAT potential also. You will see a country that looks like the U.S, Europe and Africa all in one. You will see a country that has a majority of people who probably look just like you but you will also find areas where you feel YOU are the minority! You will see fantastic scenery, abject poverty and the advanced first world all in one country. Yes there is crime but it is usually in the places where you will expect to see it and not all up in your face 24/7 like the media and some bitter people who have left there would have you believe. It is probably best to be able to work for yourself but if you are highly skilled qualified (especially in I.T and communications) work should not be a problem. The cost of living is cheaper than the States and Europe as well. You also have some beautiful and upcoming neighbouring countires like Namibia, Botwana, Swaziland and Mozambique. With the exception of Mozambique (Portuguese) they all speak English and even some German. Hope it works out. Ps. If you are single I've seen some beautiful Afirican queens there too!!

South Africa: Should stories of the crime rate deter us?:

My wife and I are strongly considering relocation possibilities with our 5 year old to the Western Cape. Should we allow the issue of crime to deter us at this point or are these stories we read in the western media exaggerated. I know South Africans who have moved to Europe for these reasons. Is crime the ONLY issue that should concern?

Namibia: U.K to Southern Africa:

Looking for emigration opportunity to Southern Africa. Have visited the Western Cape but not Namibia. Can anybody give me any advice about the feasibility of such a move? We would try to start a business out there. Is Namibia a difficult place for people from Europe to relocate too? Infrastructue, economy, cost of living, real estate prices, crime, accessibility to everyday amenities, power shortages, schooling for our 5 year old. Would all this be problematic in Namibia? Is S.A the only feasible place? Thanks for any advice from those in the know.
