Cyprus: relocating questions:

Hi I am considering moving to Cyprus where I am negociating a job, and would like to know what is the cost of living. I will be paid 1400euros a month, is that a decent wages? Also I understand there is an income tax, but I read on another forum that foreigners can are exempt fot the 1st 3 years is that true? Also how difficult is it to rent? Will i need a huge sum for my deposit? Are there public transports? The job is in Nicosia is it possible to live near a beach and work in Niciosia?A lot of questions I know but anyhelp would be appreciated!
