Have went throu 4 tutors already all of which had no English, and none were dependable ... so of course looking again. I live in the wilaya of Tipaza, right after Zeralda! thanks

Algeria: hoping to move to algeria advise please:

Hello! I have been living in Algeria with my children for 2 years now! It is true kidnapping is a cause for alarm here in Algeria - kidnapping of women and children (mostly organ trafficking) Buuut this is not something completely isolated to Algeria. I personally, move freely with my children in my city and also in Alger w/o any harm or feeling of danger. I take the basic precautions as one would, like moving around in public and not talking to strangers. Plus there are police and gendarmerie everywhere ... not to mention people are in general very friendly to help out! I have 2 medical emergencies while I was out ... and both times people in the streets came to my rescue taking to me to the hospital and even staying with me there! I would not worry about this too much! As far as birthing centers/healthcare ... healthcare is pretty much free for the people here (to visit hospital) but medicines you pay for yourself. I have been hospitalized in both public and private hospitals. FOr more detailed account, plz contact me ... but overall considering the care was free, my only complete was the overcrowdness and the amount of uncollected trash. I am pregnant now, and found a clinic in Blida runned by nuns, which to me is by far the cleanest and most modern clinic for the little fee they are asking for. There are of course other clinics in the capital, but the fees are much higher (about 300euros) Same thing with education. Depends on what you want: there is a Saudi school in Alger, similarly priced as other priavte schools. Also free state run school in Alger that teaching mainly in French. No English schools that I know of for children ... while there are several for adult learners. My daughter goes to local public school ... had no previous language skilss...again its free ... most teachers are not taught how to deal with foreign children but they do their best to accomodate them. But sometimes hard when there is 30-40 kids in the class. Reason why I also send her tutors ... any more questions plz free feel to contact me! I also know of severa forums for women married to Algerians if you are interested. Good luck!

Algeria: International Schools in Algiers:

Hello, There is a Saudi school in Algeria, which does teach English as well as Arabe. Costs about 8000DA per month with full year paid in advance. I have heard of private schools in Alger, Dley Ibrahim,Cheraga and Zeralda, similarly priced. I think generally all the schools including the priavte ones are overcorwded so not much on-on time for the kids ... needed for many w/o the language skills. Person who posted school in Bourzeah, can you give me some info on the school?
