Uruguay: In Uruguay now, about to head back to U.S. :(:

Ecd. is MUCH cheaper than UY; utilities are very low whereas, i've heard they're hi in UY. i've heard UY has terrible inflation now; even if they don't, you'll find everythig cheaper in Ecd, especially food and housing.

Uruguay: Ecuador or Uraguay or Thailand?:

i'm considering moving to Ecuador or spending summers there at least; where did you live and what are the drawbacks/advantages you experienced? thanks much for any input.

Uruguay: Cost of living?:

thank you for your post; it's good to know you can live on $600-700/mo (i'm assuming you mean w/o rent of house payment) which is exactly what i'd have to do. i live quite frugally and would be buying house or condo. What standard of housing can you get for what you paid.? thanks again.

Uruguay: reasonable COL:

What areas of UYG are affordable/reasonable and what can you expect to pay for condo purchase, food, utilities, health ins.? I'm especially interested in Salto or an area similar to that, no Punta del Este type. Thank you.

have only seen pics of Boquete and know some people who built and moved there as did their friends; what do condos cost there? nothing fancy. and what's the cost of living in gen'l? have heard the quyality of med. care is quite good .
