Dominican Republic: Opinion needed - thinking of moving to DR:

My parents are originally from the dominican republic but live in NY. I have been thinking about moving to the DR but have no idea how to look for a job or if I would even like it there. Don't really have much money saved to move but thinking about it anyway. Any suggestions?
