Saudi Arabia: single czech girl in riyadh looking for trip mates:
I am puzzled ... someone told me that for a woman you can't go to Saudi Arabia unless you are married.... apparently I am misinformed .... Can you please explain to me how did you get a visa as a single girl?
Saudi Arabia: Riyadh,Al Hamra compound and a social life!:
Hi Alfi,
I recognised myself in your description. I am in the same situation 30 / No children and enjoying life. My husband relocated to Riyadh already and I will probably joint him at the end of August. So far we were not successful in finding a place in a compound. They seem to be all full; which is a good sign.
We are very social peoples and we love beaches / scuba diving and everything related to it. I am currently located in the big and beautiful Canada but had expat experience before.
I am nervous with this reallocation to Riyadh b/c I was not successful in finding a job there and I hate to find myself isolated at home. I will definitively be in contact with you once we settle there.
Keep in touch.
Saudi Arabia: New to Riyadh:
My husband accepted a very good position in Riyadh and we will probably leave for Saudi Arabia at the end of July. So far, I was not successful in finding a job in Riyadh. I was wondering if somone could assist me in that matter.
Saudi Arabia: Native Speaker Companion:
Hi,
I am planning to move to Saudi Arabia soon. I didn't found a job there in finance yet. So, I will be happy to teach you English.
Let me know when you need to start.
Saudi Arabia: Female stock broker:
Hi Yasmeen,
Were you successful in your research? Let me know b/c I am in the same situation and I am wondering how it works.
India: Asthma:
I have asthma myself and I am currently working in Mumbai. One thing I felt is that you need a car with AC (so you can close the windows). Traffic is very bad at some times and I got very bad crisis when travelling exposed with an “auto rickshaw” or a bike.
The humidity doesn’t help either so get one dehumidifier for your house.
Good luck!
United Arab Emirates: Job hunting in UAE:
I am from Canada and looking to work in finance in UAE. My research on internet was not very successful. Maybe, job hunting in the UAE is more of contacts PR scheme. So, I was wondering if you can direct me to the right agency or contact for job hunting.
India: Bombay vs. Dubai:
Hello Peterny1,
Hum, very difficult choice. The good news is that you can do both! Some peoples say that Bombay is the next Dubai &. but personally I disagree. They are too different!
This depend I guess on your profession and the possibilities. You have to evaluate the careers in terms of net result (salaries and advantages vs costs of living). Dubai is much more expensive the Bombay.
Also, as a single guy in his mid 20s, you might find it difficult to date in Dubai due to the Islamic culture. Personally, I think that might be one of the reasons my company did not propose to me Dubai but Bombay. Dont know how many women would work there & especially single one. Culture wise, both countries are worth discovering.
Take care,
India: Delhi Entertainment:
Hi Gregg,
You might consider going out of your comfort zone and open up to other type of activities. You look like a guy how constantly needs to be entertained. India is an old civilization with a rich spiritual culture. There is a lot to learn from it. Look for all the temples outside Delhi and take some meditation lessons. If this is not your style, you can go tiger hunting :)
You welcome.
India: New to Pune:
Hi Shongo, Lorenzo,
I will be moving to Pune in October. I was also wondering how many expats are out there in Pune? How about entertainments? Are there special spots to meet them? Gym, Bar, etc.
I am looking to make fiends and have some fun during my assignment to Pune.
