Nepal: Work visas for volunteers:
Hello,
Yes, as an expat I could not purchase the land on my own. I purchased it but it in my sweethearts name. He is a Nepali man. Our plan is to be married in two years, after I have accomplished a few things in my life. I travel to Nepal on my vacations. I gave him the money cash and we went to the realtors and he signed the paperwork. Very easy process. Hassle-free. SMILE.. My next task is to build a home on this lot. I received word from the Embassy in KTM about a possible job, this is what I was wishing for. GOD willing I will be able to get a job there and then I can finish this contract work and have a normal 8-5 job. The government provides housing and vehicle, so the land in Pokhara could be for weekends, holidays and festival times. I have a plan but we will see. Please pray for me...
Nepal: Any expats living in or around Bharatpur, Chitwan district:
Hello,
I do not live in NEPAL. But I am going in Feb. of 2009. I saw that you have a one year contract working there and I wanted to ask you what is it that you will be doing? From what I understand it's hard to find work and this is what I'm trying to do is leave working in IRAQ and buy a home in Pokhara or KTM and find a job. Doesn't have to pay what I'm used to as an American but enough to live well according to their cost of living. I just wanted to know what it is that you do. I am a Puerto Rican female, 36 with one 14 year old son. I appreciate you.
Nepal: What is Your Neighborhood Like?:
Good morning Betsy,
I currently work as a contractor in IRAQ, I wish to live in Nepal within the year, or let's say next summer. I see you mentioned temporary housing. Is this like the military equivelent of it? Is this just to help give you a place to stay until you find a permenant location? See, my first trip there will be Feb. of 2009. I have fallen inlove with a wonderful man I met here while working in IRAQ and we are making plans on making a life together. He has no desire to live in the US and frankly, neither do I. I am a military brat so I am used to living abroad, my ex husband is retired military and my son loves new places and we all adjust great. My son is going to be 14 this summer and he is excellent in school and do not want him to lose that. But I want to make a life with this man as well. I really need your advice. I will have a better outlook in Feb. when I go but if temporary housing is available I can jump on that. I believe the best option for us would be to live in KTM so that I may find work. I would really like to work in the Embassy. If I need to work in IRAQ a while longer and go to Nepal on my R&R's then that's what I will do but I would like to have a home and job. My future lives in a village, BAGLUNG district but goes to Pokhara now and again to visit an Uncle who he helps at an electronics shop. I realize that I am the bulk bread winner and that doesn't bother me anymore than it does him, but he's never wanted anything from me, he wants to make a life with me and anything I want goes. I have posted on this website before but never a response. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME. Anything you can tell me will be better than nothing. I know I'm ready to leave IRAQ and begin my new life and new adventure in NEPAL. Also, could you please advise me on jobs, like I said I'm interested in the Embassy. If possible.
Nepal: real estate in nepal:
Hello,
I just logged into this website and saw your email about housing. What grabbed my attention is that you are married to a Nepali man. I too am going to marry a Nepali man sometime in the future. I am an American woman inlove with a Nepali man who is so good to me and I want to start my life with him. I will be going to Nepal for the first time in Feb. 2009. I met him while working overseas in IRAQ and he has no desire to live in America just like I don't care to live back there for quite a while. What did you have to do to get married> Was it American on HIndu style? Where do you live? Where do you work? I would like to find a job at the embassy. It's two choices, live in Pokhara or KTM. I make the majority of the money so I would like to buy a home and stop working in IRAQ. I hope you still receive emails, I notices on the blog that you wrote it in 2004 and I hope and pray that you and your husband are still happy and as much inlove as the first time you met.
Nepal: Moving to Nepal:
Hello,
I realize it's been quite a few months since your message on this website, but i am an American working contract job in Iraq. I am interested in relocationg to Nepal, Pokhara exactly. I see that you were offered a job in the U.N. Would it be too much to ask for a website to search their job offers on? I work in the Property dept. I check and inventory, along with a team of us, all goverment owned property on this base. I have money in the bank now and buying a home would not be a problem, but after being used to earning as much money as I have, I have enough to sit on for a good while, but would like to find work, good work with good pay to not have to keep "dipping" into my savings. I have met and fallen inlove with a man from nepal and would like to start our home there. Could you assist me? If I could find a job within your organization I would be willing to terminate my employment here in Iraq and go ahead and move to Nepal. I greatly appreciate you Carr.
Nepal: Welcome - Please Read!:
Hello,
I am an American woman from Puerto Rico who met and am planning to marry a Nepali man within the year. I just returned from a beautiful trip to Kathmandu as well as Pokhara. Right now I'm in the middle of trying to transfer money to my beloved in Nepal to purchase a plot of land about 15 minutes away from Lakeside section of Pokhara. He took me to about three different plots. I am forwarding you a website that I found by sheer accident online when I returned to IRAQ. I am a contract worker. But the reason this website caught my attention is because It was one of the plots that I saw and was able to see these homes. (only from the outside, I didn't go in) But here is the website, check it out and hopefully you will be able to purchase a home or even buy land.

I am desperately trying to find work in the embassy at KTM. That would be great and I can stop working here in IRAQ. I put in my application so pray for me that something falls thru. I would love to finally join my beloved in his home and still work.
I hope I was helpful to you and the best of luck in your house hunting.
GOD BLESS YOU
Brenda
