Global Expat Forum: tips,please:

If you drive, then I you will need an international drivers license. :Public transporation (buses and taxis) are the most common form of transportation by the locals. Gas is very expensive and driving in Turkey can be a scary if you are not use to the traffic. I would also look into international health insurance. The public hospitals in Turkey are not up to the same quality that US or western hospitals are. If you need to see a doctor, then go see a private doctor. You can check out www.insurancefortrips.com for travel medical tips. When are you departing?

Global Expat Forum: Swiss Global Insurance:

Are you living in Switzerland? I recommend purchasing insurance from a local company or from a company you are familiar with. If you are a US Citizen, then check the www.ambest.com website which rates all the insurance companies that do business in the US. You can also check the www.bbb.org website for consumer complaints. Before you buy your policy, be sure you read the brochure and get an agent to answer your questions about claims and how you use your insurance. You can get insurance tips from our blog at www.insurancefortrips.com or feel free to message me. safe travels - Adam

Global Expat Forum: Medical Question:

If you are concerned about your medical condition, then I would highly advise making sure you locate a couple local medical facilities that can serve you. Make sure you are comfortable with the physician, it would probably be worth your while to visit the medical center. I always advise purchasing individual international health insurance to limit the financial risk of any unforeseen medical expenses that you are not aware of. Feel free to email me at adam@globalcitizeninsurance.com for a no-obligation quote. Best Regards, Adam Bates

Hong Kong: Health insurance with a dental plan?:

Jeff, I would recommend the Citizen Secure policy. It is underwritten by Lloyd's of London, the world's largest and most recognized insurance company. It offers comprehensive worldwide medical coverage to include up to 6 months of coverage in the U.S. per year. You can get an instant quote online at http://www.overseashealth.com/cs.htm or feel free to email me at adam@globalcitizeninsurance.com. All the best, Adam Bates www.GlobalCitizenInsurance.com

Global Expat Forum: Auto Insurance:

If you are only going over for 1 year, then I would recommend selling your car. Public transporations is readily available and unless your have a personal attachment to your automobile, then you can buy a car or use public transit, buses and trains. Remeber the price of gasoline is much more expensive overseas and most cars run on diesel. The associated fees with shipping and registering your car might I would also advise looking into purchasing private health insurance. You will need to show proof of health insurance in order to obtain your entrance visa. Feel free to email me at adam@globalcitizeninsurance.com for a no-obligation quote. Best Regards, Adam Bates

United Kingdom: Health Insurance:

I would recommend buying an inexpensive health insurance policy which will give you greater freedom to see a doctor of your choice. You will not regret it if you become ill or in an accident. Regards, Adam Bates www.GlobalCitizenInsurance.com
