Some Forum Posts:

Ecuador: Netflix:

Before we left the U.S. I called NETFLIX and asked those questions. The answer is "No" and according to them, there are no plans at this time. Allunits

Ecuador: Pet travel to Ecuador:

We have all the forms nesessary to bring our two cats when we move to Ecuador in October. It is all staight forward (?) except for the step that states, "The document must then have an apostille which issued by the Depaetment of the State in which you are located". Just what does that mean? Who has to stamp, sign, seal, etc. this document? Please help.

Ecuador: safety:

Guayaquil is rather notorious. Stay together and exercise good judgement. With the same degree of caution you exercise in L.A. or Chicago, etc, you will be OK. Know where you are and where you are going. Tell your hotel desk about where you are going and ask their advise.

Ecuador: Planning to move to Cotacachi:

Sir, We will arrive in Cotacachi in October when our unit at Prima Vera II is completed. Leave word at the Meson de la Flores when you get in. I know many l expats in Cotacachi and the community is open and very helpful. Most everone takes breakfast at the Meson at least 3 times a week. You'll meet everyone there. The food is wonderful, too.

Ecuador: Topic I Have Not Seen Addressed:

Hi. I, too, cannot find this information. Also NOT a nut case. (Why do we feel we have to add that?) We have purchased a condo and other expats cannot tell us either. I hope find some facts soon. Good luck.

Ecuador: New law regarding taxes on assets:

Yes, we agree. After doing a lot of research (15+years) and spending a lot of time in Ecuador, we finally purchased a really great place. We also thought about buying another property and taking residency. Then this business came up. We are now not willing to purchase more assets in Ecuador, nor are we willing to become residents. From our viewpoint, they are kiling the "goose that layed the golden egg". Perhaps wiser heads will prevail, but for now, Ecuador is discourageing millions of dollars of funds.

Uruguay: Firearms laws:

Uruguay is on the short list for retirement. I need information on firearms laws and regulatons. Could anyone answer questions or provide a web-site to check? Thank-you.
