i. I really appreciated your tips for living in Jamaica. I will be returning to Negril for the 3rd time in early March and will be living with a Jamaican friend of mine. I agree with you, it is a much better experience if you live with, and in kind ,with Jamaican people. Could you please give me some advice asap on working there. Specifically, do I need a work permit, should I apply before I go, and what info do they want on the application? I am American, and I am an RN but wont be looking for nursing work necessarily. I am a registered nurse but would probably not work in that capacity there. Is it hard to find work in resorts, etc? Also, are there restrictions on americans working in jamaica? Hi. I found your response very helpful but have some questions I can't seem to find answers for. I have been to negril twice and have a place to live there if I want. What I don't know is if I can go there w/o a job in place before I get there in order to get a work permit. Is that actually the case? Any info you can give would be very appreciated. Hi Sue. Saw your responses to others on the forum and wanted to join in. Met someone in negril, have been back for a visit twice and considering a longer stay. Have a place to live, but wonder what is required for an american to work in negril. Im an RN, but basically looking for any kind of parttime work. Any special permits needed, etc?
