Bangladesh: Taking pets to Dhaka:

Greetings! I am an expat that is considering moving to Dhaka soon (haven't lived overseas for 20+ years) and have a couple of questions. 1. My wife and I would like to take our two small dogs. Can anyone give me information on housing/apartment restrictions, walking the dogs in the expat neighborhoods, veterinary care and dog food availability. We will most likely live in an apartment (provided by employer), in the Gulshan area (or other expat areas). I know it’s hot, but I had 2 Lhasa Apsos that I traveled and lived with in Bhutan, Indonesia and Pakistan. They did just fine, although it was nerve wracking traveling on the planes and worrying about their safety. I know it complicates things but our dogs are so much part of our family (crazy American, I know). 2. For American expats that are paid in dollars: how do you handle your deposits? Wire back to the US, local bank, international bank? 3. How is Internet service in Dhaka (aside from the routine blackouts)? What type of services are available (i.e. DSL, Dialup, Wireless, etc). 4. Any information and recommendations on mobile phone use in the country. I am a Blackberry user. Are there compatible services for Blackberries? Your answers and/or additional tips are greatly appreciated!
