Jamaica: Pet dog from Ireland:

Myself and my wife are moving to Jamaica in about six months. Can anyone give advice on bringing in our pet dog. I have trawled the net and got conflicting information ranging from yes definately its as easy as bring in a dog from the UK to no only dogs from the UK are allowed (from my reading Im am beginning - and hoping- to believe it is the same as the UK and many sites are including Ireland as part of the UK. I would be really grateful for any definative information on this. Thanks
