Kuwait: Husband working in Kuwait:

You didn't say but based on what you said he must be working for KBR. 7 days per week and 12 hour shifts with a vacation every 4 months. Am I right? If so, he is probably right, he is most likely exhausted after working those hours. The 12 hours is just the working time which doesn't include the commute time or the time it takes to get on and off Arifjan. Trust me when I say he has at least a 14 hour day everyday. Now if I'm wrong, and he's working for another company which gives him a day or two off per week then that's a different story. Let me know.

Kuwait: car leasing:

Does it need to be a 4x4? I'm leasing a 2009 Mazda 3 for 125KD/month on a 2 year lease which includes all maintenance, oil changes and insurance. 125KD = $462 approximately. The company I'm using is Autolease, a company I've used before and absolutely trust. The company I work for leases Prado 4x4 vehicles through Al Sayer but I don't know what they're paying.

Kuwait: 10 Tips for Living in Kuwait:

1) Learn to drive in the center lane at 100 KMPH and you'll live longer and help keep your blood pressure down. 2) If the Muslim call to prayer at 4:30 AM bothers you, buy ear plugs. There isn't anywhere in this country where you won't hear it. 3) How do you keep a Kuwaiti in the middle of a one lane road? Paint a dashed line down the middle. (He/she will think it's a two lane road...they love to take up both lanes) 4) During Ramadan, DO NOT EAT, DRINK, SMOKE, CHEW GUM, OR KISS YOUR GIRLFRIEND/BOYFRIEND IN PUBLIC. It's a one-way ticket to jail. 5) Refrain from any alcohol consumption. If you need it, fly to Dubai for the weekend. 6) Learn patience. You will be tested. 7) Be a good tipper. The people receiving them make a fraction of what stateside folks do in the service industries. 8) Amazon.com has most anything you need that you can't find here. 9) Explore. If you get bored it's your own fault. There's plenty to do here. 10) Drink plenty of water. It's a dry heat here so it's easy to get de-hydrated.

Kuwait: English Grammer:

I don't know about "corpus" but I can help you re-write your plea for help as follows: "Hey, I have an English grammar course at the university this year and it contains a part about "corpus". It's quite heavy and I need a teacher to help me catch up with what I missed. Can anyone help?" This corrects the spelling and grammatical errors of your message.

Kuwait: Costs in Kuwait:

I have lived and worked in Kuwait for the past 5 years so I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. You didn't say where your husband works. If he's working in connection with the US Army then you can get most of the things you want in the PX at costs similar to anything stateside. If outside of the military then the Sultan Center has a wide variety of goods and prices are comparable to stateside prices with some grocery items like vegetables being slightly higher. But they do have California carrots, Washington red apples, iceburg lettuce and so on. The only thing they don't do well is bread. They call it "toast" here and it just isn't as good as any bread stateside. But if you have a friend on the military base they can get Wonderbread or Homepride bread in the PX. As for activities for your sons, the schools here have sport activities just like anywhere although soccer is the predominant sport. There is a great paintball park near the Kuwait water tower as well as go-carting, swimming and more. There's plenty to do to keep from being bored. Feel free to ask me anything.
