I would not recommend using standard post unless you are happy to wait anything up to 10 weeks or are not too bothered if the item gets lost. That is my experience when sending and receiving post from the UK. Anything important that I want to be sure will get to its destination I send by courier. Maybe others have had better luck, but I have not!

Kazakhstan: Moving to Almaty:

I am a UK expat currently living in Estonia and plan to move to Almaty around April or May. I was wondering if there were many English speaking expats out there and what living in Kazakhstan is like. I will be making a short visit in March, including looking for accommodation, so any tips on places I should check out would be appreciated.
