Jamaica: I want out of here!!:

I have lived in the greater Detroit area since I was born 22 years ago and I want out!! I want to move abroad with my life partner, but I don't know what to do - how to begin, how easy/hard/impossible it is... Does anyone have any suggestions? How much should I have put away? Should I just go for it and stop worrying about it before I get cold feet?
