Jordan: US Income Tax:
Greetings folks,
I am writing regarding the W – 2 forms (income tax in US). I am a US citizen who moved to Jordan in 2008. When in the states; I was working for an educational institution and in 2009 they rehired me to work for them part time. My work with them is 100 % fully online over the internet. This year I received the W-2 forms and I have to file for taxes (federal and state). I am wondering if you can guide me regarding:
1- The way of filing for taxes (federal and state) knowing that I am currently residing in Jordan (How can I file for taxes while in Jordan?).
a. Can I file for them using the e-file (internet) and how? or
b. Does the embassy help with such issues? Or
c. Is there any tax services office in Jordan that is familiar with the US tax system and help in filing for US citizens for a fee?
2- Does any one of you have such similar experience? If so, please guide me through the process.
3- If I need to pay for the IRS or if they’ll reimburse me; can this be done while I am in Jordan?
I appreciate immensely any advice you offer me regarding this matter. I will be grateful if you respond to my e-mail: taquamenon@yahoo.com
Thanks a lot in advance,

Jordan: Should i move to Jordan?:
Hello there. Moving from one place to another usually carries within it new experiences that could be positive, negative, or a mix of both, but we shouldn't allow any barriers to interfer with our plans and endeavors. Jordan is a safe and nice country and most people can speak English with varying proficiencies. Being a girlfriened for someone wouldn't be a big deal in some parts of Amman (i.e., Western Amman), but at the same time; it will be better not to reveal the exact nature of the relationship to others and usually no one will get into such details. I really would like to have a gf myself and hope that some pretty girl will dare to let me know!
Job wise, I advise to contact your embasy in Amman. You can "google" it and sure you'll find its website in Amman. Keep your fingers crossed and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or if you and your bf need assistance when you arrive to Jordan.
Best,
Omar

Dear Cait,
Hope you arrived safe to Amman by now. First advice, please hang in there. It'll be totally different than what you got used to in US, but all of this cultural shock issues will be alleviated as soon as you delve into the new culture. I am a dual US / Jordan bilingual citizen and familiar with both cultures and can help you in this regard if you opt to. If you like to contact me; please drop me a message at:
taquamenon@yahoo.com and we can arrange for a meeting then
Best,
Ramo
