India: Moving to India?:

Hi Katherine, Relocation to any country involves lot of challenges in terms of movement, Visa and Settling down. Certain things are not clear. You mentioned that you want to move to India, but what would be the objective ? is it for tourism, voluntary service, or Work ? If it is for work, then once you get an offer from the Indian Employer, you can apply for the E Visa at the Indian High Commission in your country. There are a few documents required to be submitted along with the application form and it is fairly an easy process. The actual move and settling process varies from city to city and we can look at that later. If you have any further questions please post it here. Regards, Sahana

India: Considering relocating to Bombay from USA:

Hi, There a few good International Schools in Mumbai, like the American International School, The German School and the Dhirubhai Ambani International School. Having said that, the waiting list is pretty long and may even take 3 to 6 months in some cases. When are you planning to move to India ? Do you want your child to be a day scholar or okay to put him in a International School that has boarding and located outside Mumbai ? If so then there are many choices. Please let me know and accordingly I can advise further. Thanks, Sahana

Switzerland: The cost of an International Move...:

Hi Jen, I can very well understand the trauma of moving countries with bag and baggage. If you have kids the problem is multi fold, one is the physical relocation and the other the adjustment part. Regarding the moving bit, how much goods you have. Depending on the volume, it can go on a 20 feet or a 40 feet container. As You are based in the US, i can suggest one of the movers who are on the approved panel of our Bank who have their own offices in the US and other locations. We have extensively used their services to move our expats around the world and have good experiences with them. You may visit their website www.unirelo.com and www.universalrelocations.com and check move process, feedback from customers etc. You may also drop a note to me sahana_kumar@yahoo.com and I can introduce them to you and you can take it forward. Best Wishes on your move, Sahana

Regarding invitation letter from Saudi, your husbands company should be able to provide the necessary papers with which you would have to go the nearest saudi embassy in your country and apply for a visa.
