Kazakhstan: Almaty flats:

I'm back in Almaty after a year in Astana. Looking for a flat, perferably on the north side. I'm looking in the $2000 and under, but see that there are not many choices. Can anyone pass a feww tips my way about finding a secure apt.

Kazakhstan: Almaty is an expensive place:

Just transferred down from Astana and hoteling for a week or two. Any tips on how or where to find a secure apt on the north side of town? I'm budgeted to about $1800 a month.
