Philippines: Tagaytay:

A Filipino lady in know here in US has been telling me that Iloilo is the place to retire. I then discovered an expat website on FB and the moderator there, very helpful, suggested Tagaytay. Comparisons anyone? I noticed that Ilo has a rather high crime rate, Tagaytay no.I'm divorced, 60 this year and want to retire in a quiet, laid back environment, gardening, growing veggies and walking the dogs type of thing. I'm not interested in getting into a relationship so I won't be looking. I want to buy a free-standing house with a largish lot if possible, but I'm worried about the legal issues facing a single foreigner, who has no intentions of hooking up with a local girl. Any advice would be so appreciated, thank you. My budget would be around $250g to set up.
