Minimum wage $567,000 COP a month. Good luck to find 1st world living standards at this. You can get hired under the table at my bar paid nightly $40,000 without a visa. Plus tips, which are low. Hostals rarely work deals, look on couchsurfing.com for better options in Medellin in particular.

Colombia: Looking for ESL work:

Couchsurfing.org is your best resource for this in Medellin. Low budget roomate options, the students and english teachers are always on here....have classifieds etc

I have a GREAT girl if anyone needs a day....she totally transformed my house, so unusual. I have had many many girls in many countries, so anyone looking for a star cleaner and total trust, I can recommend. email me in private, celeste@gnn.com.co

Australia: HEALTH CARE:

I was told by my Bancolombia manager that as of June 2012 there will be no more accounts openned for US citizens, as the new banking requirements from the US are too invasive.

Colombia: Relocating to Medellin:

Sure! If you are looking for couples in Medellin, Gringo or half gringo half Colombian, I have been here a couple years with my husband and we can get together. Email me at celeste@gnn.com.co There are more of us coming, although the expat community in Medellin is very small, and almost entirely word of mouth. Lots of sex tourism, but more families and couples all the time, in time we may even have active local forums.

Colombia: Natural Birth in Medellin:

I am very happy with my dra. Obviously natural is the first choice, unless you have complications. She is in Clinica Medellin in Poblado.

Colombia: Relocating to Medellin:

Finally someone coming to Colombia who has a good plan! Sounds like myself, around 40 living here on internet income from the states. Let me know when you get to Medellin and we can meet up. celeste@gnn.com.co

Colombia: Any recommendations for Moving companies from the US?:

Hi there- I see we have a bit in common, my husband and I moved to Medellin and are about 40, planning a family here. We have been here 8 months. It is wonderful! I am glad you have realistic expectations, that is the most frustrating thing with people trying to move here. What city are you moving to?
