Hello, yes, there are not many people speaking English in the region of Sao Carlos, but I am sure they will do their best to try to understand or talk to you, you dont have to worry about that! On the other hand, finding a job might be complicated, the probability is gonna be higher of finding one, of course, if you learn the language, and Sao Paulo is quite far to be going back and forth every day, you would have to move there! Hope it helps.
