Uruguay is the best place in South America by far. It is amazing!! Very low crime and the people are great- I want to move there like yesterday. You will meet residency req no problem and live decently on 3500/mo . You must see it at least before you decide on anywhere else. Punta is definatly lively during season and very calm off season- I love it there and can not wait to live there. Its a beautiful county- I have not been to ecuador so I can't compare the two, but punta has the finest designer stores, great restrauants and your right on the ocean, Its great.

Uruguay: Anyone have problems with bank wires?:

We are Trying to purchase a property and have to jump thru hoops it seems to wire any money into our acct at brou. Is that normal?
