Brazil: Is this even possible?:

You can't do it. The only way to get a perm visa is to marry a Brazilian, retire here with a certain amount of pension income, or start a business with very specific specifications and rules. Your dream is nice, but you can't do it as you present it. And if you come on a tourist visa, you can't legally work here. Best thing is to stay the 6 months, then back to the US for 6, then go back and forth and have the best of both worlds.

Brazil: work visa from brazil:

Sorry, you have to get your work visa from the US...a flight back will be required.

Global Expat Forum: Anyone have a job for me in Latin America?:

You are going to find it VERY difficult to find a job in Latin America. Besides the fact that jobs are scarce, to get a work permit so you can legally work and stay longer is tedious and expensive for an employer. Unless you have a specific skill they can't find any place else...you are kind of out of luck. One of the best, though not easiest, ways to find a job in LA is find a company in your home country that might have an office in LA, then after you work for them try to get transferred....

Brazil: Work Visa:

Your company applies for the work visa, not you individually.

Brazil: Moving, mid 20's into a condo, need VISA help, may or may not be working:

Actually, the amounts for the retirement visa has gone up a LOT. Not two grand any more...

Brazil: Problems renting apartment:

You don't need Brazilian docs or a bank account to rent an apartment. I own several in Rio and rent to Brazilians and expats both. Most leases in Brazil are for 30 months, but you can find many for only 12 at a time. But...in your situation you probably need to find an expat that owns and rents it out as they will work with you more. I'd also check some real estate places and ask questions.

Brazil: Planning a move to Brazil.:

While you are in the US, apply for your perm visa. Its easier and faster in the US than in Brazil. Without it, you are dead in the water as far as work, living there longer than 6 months, and such. And start saving as much money as you can. Thats the first step.

Brazil: How to apply for Permanent Visa in Brazil:

It will take a couple of months. Some banks and some employers make you actually wait for your actual plastic card which can take over a year, but most will take the docs.

Brazil: US-bought TVs Work in Brazil?:

Most of the TVs made in the last year work ok...some earlier than that didn't as Brazil uses the same internal system on TVs as Europe does.
