About jefas64 |
I never had considered that living outside of the United States would be something I could accomplish (although it was a dream of mine), until I met and fell in love with a Mexican woman. Now I have been living in Mexico for 3.5 years and we have an amazing little girl, 3 houses, and lots of dreams for expanding our experiences to living in other countries. While I have been embraced by family and new friends in Mexico, I still wish for a community of expats with whom I can share experiences (adjusting to a new culture, finding work, navigating the paperwork and rules, etc.).

Advice for New Expats |
Tap any expat resources you can find! If you're fluent in Spanish, read any laws that you come across (or that you find referenced in your applications, paperwork, etc.).

By all means, please share! I can see that your experience would be valuable to expats looking to copy a successful business or to create a new one. Perhaps you can sketch out the general steps that you took, with details pertaining to the hostel business in particular. Looking forward to seeing your reply!
