China: Banking in Beijing:

Any suggestions with how to deal with the Chinese banks? I've heard horror stories, but will be living in China for at least a year and so feel that I should attempt to open an account there. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

China: Electricity in Beijing:

I'm moving from the US to Beijing. For anyone who lives there, I was wondering if I can plug a powerstrip into a transformer into a converter into a socket there or if I'll blow up the building or something. I'd like to use a powerstrip for my computer, battery charger, etc, in case there's a power surge so they don't get fried. Please advise. Thank you!

China: English Editor:

Any advice on how to become an English Editor / Proofreader / Writer for a company? I have 4 years of experience. Seems to be lots of opportunities for teachers but not as many for editors. Any advice? Thank you!
