Singapore: where to live in Singapore:

Hi there! My boyfriend and I are moving to Singapore at the end of the year. He's had lived in Singapore but has given me the task of finding us a place or at least the area where we will live in...He wasn't sold on the area he used to live in... A few things about us: ~We are in mid 30's and 40's ~Will eventually get a city car, but not initially ~being near the water would be nice but it is not a requisite ~we would work from home ~we don't have any children ~we rather be in the city center than outside but Singapore seems to be small enough where we could be a bit out if we found the perfect place ~i think we prefer an old shophouse style apt to the highrise style apt, although the amenities of some of those highrises are nice Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Madeline

Spain: Anyone in San Sebastian?:

Hello...my name is Madeline and my boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to San Sebastian...I am glad to know that if we do there are friendly people like all of you who are willing to help. But before we get there, we need information about cost of living, rent, how big or small the city is and how much goes on...i.e. is it a small city but one where it is easy to find all you need or is it more a sleepy city, super slow-paced city? I hope my question makes sense. We are planning a trip soon to check it out. Is there a local newspaper website or community website where one can get a sense of activities and events around San Sebastian? Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon! M

Switzerland: Adjusting to Expat Life in Switzerland:

hi swissgirl... i just moved here from NY...my boyfriend had to move here for work...he got here a few months back, but I have only been here for about a month. I also find the language barrier challenging...can you tell me a bit about migros language school? i have done a few searches for german classes but I don't think i have come across a migros one... also, what did you do to meet people? I am not working and that makes it kind of hard... Any help would be great! Thanks, Madeline
