Kenya: I Can Help:
Dear Linda,
In researching a move from Miami to Nairobi, I came across your message and am wondering how you made out? I am a single woman, and plan to come to Nairobi in April for 4-6 weeks to see what I might be able to do there (I have to decided to get out of corporate life after 15 very successful years and do something entirely different, preferrably related to wildlife conservation. I speak 5 languages, and know I would pick up Swahili with relative ease. So, I am curious to know if all your belongings made it, and if you have settled in. Do you have a job? Is it difficult as a foreigner to get a work permit? How do you like living in Nairobi?
I would be most appreciate of any info or feedback you can give me on your own experiences.
Thanks!
Petra.
Kenya: Working in Kenya:
Hello Carter,
I just found this website and am wondering how you made out. Are you already in Kenya? I too want to move to Kenya and get involved in wildlife organizations. After 15 years as a corporate executive, have decided that there is more to life and 3 extended visits to Kenya over the last years have left me itching to go back for a lot more. I would be very interested to hear what you found and would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me. I am planning on going to Nairobi in APril for 4-6 weeks for an initial look and to make contacts...
Thanks in advance for your reply! Sunny greetings from Miami,
Petra.
Kenya: Moving to Kenya:
Hello Sheila,
In researching a move from Miami to Kenya, I came across your message. I have been to Kenya several times, and after 15 years in the corporate world, need a radical change and Kenya was so magical on each of my trips, both in Nairobi and outside (Samburu, Nanyuki, Mombasa, Diani Beach, the Mara of course, Abedares etc) that I have been thinking about it ever since! I speak 5 languages (French, Spanish, German and Portuguese) so I would hope that these might come in handy...I am a quick study in languages and know that I would pick up Swahili quite easily - in fact I did learn quite a lot during my visits in Kenya (though since forgotten). Any info at all would be most appreciated. I am very keen on wildlife organizations and / or tourism-related businesses. Many thanks in advance for your reply! Sunny greetings from Miami,
Petra.
