United States: Visa:

I'm a UK citizen hoping to move to the US in Sept to live with my boyfriend. Can anyone advise me on what I need to do to obtain a residents visa (for example) to enable me to stay for an extended period, please? We plan to spend a year travelling & then settle down & I'll get a job.

Turkey: Room to rent in Istanbul:

Female flatmate wanted to share an apartment with 2 English teachers in Acibadem. Fully furnished. Rent: 275 tl per month plus 1/3 bills. Wireless internet. Please e-mail me for more info or to view.

Turkey: 2 females looking for an apartment in Kadikoy:

Both my friend & I have to leave our current apartments, and are looking for a property to rent together in Kadikoy. We are sensible, hard-working and quietly sociable (ie: not party animals) English teachers. If anyone has 2 rooms to rent, then please let me know.

Turkey: does age make such a difference when looking for a job in turkey:

I am a teacher & several 2 of my teacher friends are 58 & 59, so age doesn't appear to be a factor in teaching. I can't comment on other professions though. Dont lose heart. If you are a teacher then there are places looking for teachers in Istanbul. I hope you find something suitable soon.

Saudi Arabia: English Teacher:

Does anyone have any knowledge of the company "igitgroup.org"? I have been offered a teaching job, but I have to leave in 12 days - very short notice. I have done some research on the Internet, but would like to hear from anyone who has worked for this organisation. Any tips from teachers would be great - I've taught in Turkey for 1 year (I'm a British woman, by the way). Many thanks in advance for your help.

Turkey: Considering Turkey:

Hi, I am living in Istanbul, this is my 2nd year here, and compared to the UK it is much cheaper. £500 will last me a month, but I am very careful & try to save as much as possible (am returning to uni next year). Imported goods are expensive, but eating out can be very cheap. I looked at a furnished 1-bed apt last week, for 800tl. And tomorrow I'm looking at a 4-bed unfurnished apt for 800tl, you can buy second-hand furniture etc quite cheaply. I'm hoping to share with friends, which keeps costs down, of course. Usually, the landlord will ask you to sign a 1-year lease. It's a lot cheaper to rent privately, rather than go through an emlakci (estate agent). First time, I wandered about, noting down phone numbers of places up for rent. There is a website: www.sahibinden.com which you can check out. There is a good expat community in Istanbul (I'm on the Asian side), but I prefer to mix with the Turkish community. I can't comment on other cities. Hope this is of some help.
