Check MMS (Miracle Mineral Supplement.) It is excellent for many ailments and kills pathogens too! I have used it for over 20 years always with great results!

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Weather in the mountains:

I noticed when I lived in the USA that people use heating and air conditioning in an exaggerated manner...I have lived in Riobamba and Quito most of my life before I moved to Austin TX. Expats from the US find too cold our mountain weather because they were used to wear summer clothes when it is snowing outside, and winter clothes inside when outside is in the peak of the heat of summer! We Ecuadorians (I have dual citizenship) we like to feel the real weather...if it is cold, well, we add a blanket in the bed, we put on a poncho on, we might have a chimney...but we feel inside what is going on outside! As you must have noticed we have in a day to take coats, sweaters, etc. off as the sun comes out and put them back on after 4 PM. It must be hard to adapt to the different approach we have toward weather but I think it is more friendly to nature as we do not overspend energy just to feel extra confortable! Those are my thoughts on that subject.... I have always loved Cuenca and wanted to move there way back in the 70's...when I finally retired from the USA and moved there in 2009 without having any friends of family living in Cuenca, my family in Quito and Ecuador warned me that Cuencanos were not friendly! I only stayed three months and as an Ecuadorian I found out that it was true, cuencanos are very hard to welcome Ecuadorean outsiders ...I imagine it would be harder for foreigners. I probably would have stayed longer in Cuenca but my son had a baby, my first granddaughter and I moved immediately to live with them in Peru, then in Chile and now they live in Denver. I am now in Switzerland enjoying the snow (kind of) and I am going to Denver to meet my new and second granddaughter born just this past October! Hope my reflections help someone on their move to Ecuador! I live now in Quito but I will probably sell my house and move to a less polluted place ... maybe like Mindo that is heaven on earth!

Ecuador Welcome Forum: In Quito: Free rent for pet sitting:

I need a person who could take care of a lovely 8 month old female dog while I am abroad (from Oct 20th to Begining of Jan 2017) in upscale Quito Tennis neighborhood. Non smoking environment with Direct TV, Net Life for Internet and all amenities. You pay half utilities. Thanks!

Ecuador Welcome Forum: New Pizza Place:

I agree with Susan! Puerto Lopez has not been contaminated yet with big buildings and other "comforts" of civilization! I love it and its surroundings!
