Russia: Marriage in Russia?:

Getting married in Russia will not help you. You need a lot of documents and you will have to return to the USA to get them. I think this will be a problem in most countries. Even if you got married in Russia it does not give you the right to live in Russia. You still need visas. You can apply for residence, but it takes a lot of time and documents also. (For some of which you will likely be forced to return to the USA to get.

Russia: teaching in Russia:

You will never be able to survive independantly the area you describe. Outside of Moscow, you will starve, and have few clients. If you are not interested in making money, you can do it. Your idea of just "showing up" will only work in Moscow. Do you speak Russia? If not, you idea will never work. Yu want to live near the mountains, where there are less people. Where will you get clients? Most of your potential clients will have very little money. You will also be living in a remote area. Do you have a death wish? You will have 2 or 3 choices - go to the south - Sochi - home of the highest mountain peaks in Europe -and dangerous for naieve foreigners. You can go to the Urals - good luck finding clients in this remote & poor area. You can go to the far north near Murmansk. Have you save a lot of money? You must be prepared to stay for only 3 months and leave. Redo the visa every 3 months. That is what will happen at best - if you just "show up". You can not stay for more than 30 days the first time you are here. You will have to have a tourist Visa.

Russia: 10 Tips for Living in Russia:

I can believe you actually moved to Russia with "bedding". Sure bring your clothes, but bedding is cheap. You will pay more to transport all this with you, than it will cost to replace it. And then you will pay people to move it for you from the airport to the taxi, etc... VERY BAD ADVICE. Moscow is the most expensive city in the world, but only for those who don't know where to shop, and don't really understand life in Russia. I know. I have been coming to Russia for over 10 years. I eventually moved most of my posessions here. It cost me over $15,000 to do so. And if you don't speak some Russian - stay home! We don't need anymore "Ënglish" teachers here looking to "experience Russia", while giving professional teachers a bad name.
