Panama: Advise and Info Welcome:

where do you want to live....city, beach, or mountains? City is expensive, some areas of beach are less expensive then others but all are hot and you will need ac ...which is something to take in consideration...I live in El Valle where I do not need ac or air so electric bills are low....no condos here but, can rent a home for around $800.

Panama: Maybe Looking for house to rent end of year:

It would help if you could give a location where you would like to rent. Do you want beach, city or mountains.

Panama: "Safest" Area to Live in Panama:

I will have to say Ricobreeze is correct about El Valle....I am a single woman and have lived here 7 years by myself. I tried Altos del Maria and found it too isolated for me with nothing to do...the hills are steep so you have to be in good shape if you like walking. El Valle is safe as long as you are not stupid....leave the rolex at home.... El Valle to me is the best mountain community by far..we have everything here to get by own.... I do take pre-cautions just like I did in the states..just different...in the states I slept with a alarm on and a 38 on the nite stand...here it is a metal base ball bat, a machete and mace plus 3 dogs . I find people without dogs are more of a target...in 7 years I have lost 4 propane tanks on my property mostly from my two casitas that are on property...the last time they tried to get the tank in the back casita I let the dogs out...first time I ever saw a Panamanian turn lily white and fly up 8 feet in the air...now, when I walk my dogs the area worker's go to the other side of the road.....

Panama: Ready to take the plunge and wondering if it's safe to be a SWF in Panama:

Kim, I am a SWF and live here in EV....I came here 9 yrs. ago ...I did no prior research as I was just looking for some land outside the USA to invest in....I had never been on a forum or anything to do with a expat questionnaire....I saw great opportunity with Panama and liked what I saw....For 2 years I went back and forth from Florida and finally made the permanent move ...I have not regretted it!! The only confrontations in this country that I have ever ran into were all with expats if that tells you anything. I am Ricobreeze aka Mark's neighbor and have known him for years and consider him a friend as like myself he does not pussyfoot around the truth but, tells it like it is.....The woman he was telling you about that went with a Gardener, I also knew....she brought everything on herself....I have never felt threaten here by the locals....but, I do not go in to the Cantina's and dance with the workers I hire for work and invite them back to my place. Having said that your choice's of looking for love or dating prospects are very limited! I have been fortunate enough to retired at a early age so have not had to worry about work to make a living here....Panama is a wonderful place and you should come down and give it a try instead of listening to a bunch of bored sour puss expats that thought coming here would change their life and make them Happy as ,these type of expats will keep looking for their Utopia and never find it as it is within. I live in Paradise but, have made it my Paradise!! Rico is right about the rain in Nov. though it is the worst month for rain....hope this helps you with your decisions.

Panama: location for growing:

I have 15 hects. of land (37 acres) with a river that horseshoes the property. Great for growing and cattle....one hour from city, 10 minutes to coronado...$6.50 a meter.

Panama: Corporation Bearer Shares - ley 47 Dev 2015:

I use the same lawyer as Sheila and he is very good...I just had to do this with my corp. and the charge was not bad...do not remember but, I believe around $300....Call Martinez and he will get you straighten out....you can use Sheila's name and mine....Michele H....El Valle

Panama: Affordable Rental:

Hola, Please keep in mind living down near the water/beach...it is hot. You will need ac which cost electric....etc. to add to your rent. I live in El Valle where I do not need ac and have all the conveniences to live here in a peaceful setting , two hours from the city and 45 min.to the beach. Having describe EV the downside is availability of rentals here ....and mostly expensive. However, there are couples here on your budget doing it and living a better life than before...I have a fully furnish casita for $350. per week or $75 per nite..come check out the mountains for a couple of days...evmichele56@yahoo.com for pics and availability.

Panama: Recommendations of which areas to check for Expat living:

If you are scouting for future retirement places...First, you must decide city, beaches or mountains. I live in El Valle, Anton in the mountains and I love it...I am a single woman and feel safe more so than the states. Been here for 8 yrs. and the worst thing that happened crime wise was someone stole my propane tank ...their are a lot of single expat women that live here, but it is a community where we do mix with the locals and everyone gets along for the most part...expats are probably the ones that will cause you more grief than locals..lol..but, seriously. Weather wonderful..no ac or heat...stores and restaurants, busy on week-ends and sloowwwwwwwwwww during the week. You should be El Valle on your list to see

Panama: Upscale real estate:

El Valle,Anton...week-end mansions of the wealth city folks....best climate...research and see what suits you best.

Panama: House Insurance:

I do have a policy on my house....covered for 300k with 20k contents.....$483 per year.....Alfredo Reynolds is my agent. He is in Panama City and speaks perfect English...can insure anywhere in country....his number is6681-9593. I just talked with him and he will be leaving tonight for states and return on Jan.11. Very good agent....
