United Kingdom: Council Tax:

I found on the web that everyone is responsible for paying a council tax if you are older than 18, whether you rent or own. Does that mean that the home owner AND the tenant BOTH have to pay a Council Tax on the same property? Please say it ain't so!

United Kingdom: I Wish I had Known... Before Moving to United Kingdom:

I wish I had known: 1.) That a fanny is not a butt, but rather what my wife has and I don't. Lots of embarrassed giggles around me on that one. 2.) How loudly I speak at times, at least when compared to Brits.

Global Expat Forum: Apple's New Tablet:

This is starting to get interesting. Having all/many of our books on a reader will be interesting. Anyone have a kindle out there who can provide a review? I'm looking forward to this!

Global Expat Forum: Favorite Novels with Expat Themes?:

I'll definitely say Out of Africa is one of my favorites. Recently, while not quite a novel, I read Julie & Julia by Julie Powell. Having seen the movie, I decided to read that. I had no idea that Julia Childs spent so much time overseas!
