There are import duties in Ecuador. Talk to a customs specialist at US State Department, Ecuador Embassy or at a shipper.

Ecuador: FYI:

Posting here is not a right, it is a privilege. The purpose of posting is to give the advantage of experience to fellow strangers in strange lands. To hijack the forums for personal purposes, especially by non-expat people, is not a right but simply a hijacking. Take your rights to free speech and go somewhere where that right is the single issue. The right to single people out for scorn and belittlement is not much of a right. For ILA to spend some time trying to explain the rights of others to a poster is not sneaking around, it is refraining from feeding the beast with a quiet aside. For all of your rights to free speech, what about the rights of others to be exempt from libelous rants? I support freedom of speech as much as anyone alive, but I also consider the rights of others to be as important as my own. This is also known as respect for others, or the subjugation of ego, or common decency or being a stand-up guy. So basically, don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. rvg
