New Zealand: primary schools in Christchurch:

I am new to this forum. My family is moving to Christchurch, New Zealand in February. My wife and I have student visas and we will be attending CIPT. We have a 6 year old daughter who needs to be enrolled in a primary school before she can receive her visa. We are not familiar with the city of Christchurch and choosing a school for our daughter as well as accomodation for our family seems very difficult. If anyone has any suggestions for us I would certainly appreciate them. Thank you.
