Hi. Good luck with your decision. I too have recently accepted a job offer in Kuwait (IT job) and found the Expat forums to be very helpful. I hear that apt. rentals are very affordable. My company is paying for housing accommodations but I hear you can rent a 2-bedroom for just $500 (if I recall correctly). Maybe we can touch base once I arrive in a month or less. Cheers, Yolanda I'm currently based in Washington, DC - what about you? Ciao and good luck! Y

I also just learned there's a rowing/crew club/group at Hilton Spa Resort (Mangaf) as well! I think it was started by some of the teachers at the Australian colleges around town...Oh, as well as an Extreme Freezbie group - go figure! hehe! All of these are small, impromptu groups, if I'm not mistaken! I'm not sure on the dates/schedules, but if you wanna ' know more I'll try to find out - k! Cheers, Y :-)

Global Expat Forum: US Citizen marrying Italian Citizen in Italy:

The State Department - Travel website is always very helpful. You can even register your travel dates so the U.S. embassy overseas can be aware of your presence in case of emergencies. There's also much information about travelling/relocating with children, spouses, etc. Check out: http://travel.state.gov/ or http://www.state.gov/travel/ They look the same but contain different information. Cheers, Y

Global Expat Forum: looking NZ/Auz friends:

Hi Kaye, How has your experience been, from the female perspective? I'm actually in Washington, DC now but hope to make the move to Kuwait in a month or two. Any good/bad tidbits to share? Inquiring minds wanna' know. Also, it appears Salmiya is the place to be, I see it everywhere. I thought Kuwait City would be the happening spot (are there any happening spots, haha!?) Cheers, Yolanda Happy New Year!
