South Africa: Is it really that bad in SA?:

Hi - I noticed the date of your message (June 2001). Hopefully, everything is going well for you in SA. Did you get there? My husband and I (plus our three year old) are just on the verge of booking our one way flights (and receiving our permits) out to Durban. We're not staying there, but we are going to drive down the coast and hope to settle somewhere along the Cape. We are so excited (even bearing in mind the negative views we've had from people along the immigration process) and we can't wait to 'start a new life' away from Bedfordshire in England. Have you travelled the coast at all. Any advice/information would be appreciated? We don't know where we're going to settle yet, so it really is going to be a case of just having to drive until we feel good about an area, Thanks.
