There are a number of International schools here in Shanghai and they all have nursery and kindergarten classes. There are American, British, French, German and International curriculums. There are quite a number of Asian children where English is not a first language and Mandarin is compulsory in some schools. As far as the women's clubs are concerned I can send you a listing if you need. The clubs hold many events and I would say the Shanghai Expatriate Association is the largest and most active. In regards to your query on housing in Beijing, rentals of a one to two bedroom apartment would start from USD$2,000-3,000 per month. You will find cheaper and more expensive depnding on your needs. Generally, it is easier to get utilities paid if it is a private landlord however some developments nowadays will accpet payment to a certain monthly cut off point. It is always best to use an agent that is used to dealing with expatriates. The best is to use an agency like ours which uses expatriate agents.
