Hong Kong: New arrivals:

Hi, My wife, 2 children (one newborn) and I are moving to Hong Kong this August and would like some advice on finding accommodation. I will be working on the West side of Hong kong Island but my wife wants to live near a beach. The serviced apartments on the web seem very nice but expensive - any advice? Also is it possible to travel daily ( stress free) from the south of the island to the north? Thanks.

My wife, two children (one new born) and I are hoping to move to Hong Kong this August. We are looking for comfortable short term accommodation whilst we look around and establish our bearings. I have a job on the west side of Hong Kong Island but my wife (who likes to lie around on the beach) wants to live in the South. Is it possible to commute daily (public transport) from the South without stress?The apartments on the web seem nice but expensive, will we find cheap (HK20per month) accommodation?
