Jordan: I Wish I had Known... Before Moving to Jordan:
To learn Arabic and to take a lot of English reading material lol .
Global Expat Forum: What I miss the most:
Vegemite and to feel free in the wide open spaces of Australia. To walk up the street without people staring, go into a shop and read the prices and choose what I want, to stand orderly in a que and be served individually, to get in my car and drive anywhere I want , to visit my family, friends and have a conversation and be understood, to read newspapers or magazines, books, to be just home but to have my fiancé with me who has to wait in Jordan for his visa.
Global Expat Forum: Missing Australia:
I am in Jordan I lived here since august last year as my fiancé is from here. I thought it was only me to have all those horrible feelings of anxiety, depression, frustration etc until I read an article on here that a lot of others experience the same. It was sort of a relieved feeling to know I am normal and not going crazy lol. Though sometimes I thought I was just being here lol. I can say having lived right in amongst the culture and benefit of my fiance's family it's sure been an experience. The most advice I would recommend is to learn some or most of the language it's one of the hardest barriers.

This is all you can do is take your time but at same time love is a risk with who ever you meet and can be wonderful too. I would like to know more about your situation if you want to share with me. I'm going to Jordan next month for a time so are you in Jordan or going to spend time there? Regards Leanne

Does anyone have any idea if there is a time on waiting to apply for visas for my partner who is from Jordan. We will be applying in Jordan to return to Australia. Any light on this will be muchly appreciated.

I have been writing to the Jordan embassy on some other issues about working visas, marriage, migrating to Australia from Jordan. I would be interested to know how you get on with work there and may be able to give each other some ideas of what we find out if you like. Cheers Leanne
