Egypt: Is there such thing as dating in Egypt?:

a comment.. unlike the states most of the men want to get married before they even know you. and if you help them with money they dont appreciate it in the end. Ive heard alot of stories. the men in the tourist areas are mostly users for sex and money it seems like. the same thing many women have been doing for centuries.. a sugar mama so to speak. i find it very hard to trust even more so then back in the states. the men here in egypt say one thing and do another. thats what bothers me. this is on the negative side. on the postive side i am sure there are very good and kind and sweet men to be found who are honest and humble. but they seem to be very jealous and if the woman gets jealous she is expected to stifle this when women have more emotions then men. they dont understand women at all it seems. like anyone in a realationship be aware people can change after marriage, the honeymoon ends fast. also a man can easily divorce and not even tell a woman til its done. the rules are easy with men when it comes to marriage. and also the two types of marriage orfie and legitimate. i dont like the fact that a marriage can be thrown away so easily and that a man can use the muli marriage thing as a threat agaisnt a wife. that if a wife does not please her husband all the time he can go marry another. my advice is if you fall in love with an egyptian be sure of it because it can really make your heart break and drive you insane. lol

Egypt: what kind of clothing?:

long skirts are better than pants. loose clothing is better than tight. jogging suit is fine for jogging. it would be a good idea to wear hijab if possible for protection of dirt from your hair and to blend in better also from the sun. i found even walking alone in maadi in the evening that i got catcalled alot and thats being covered up. loose clothing helps also in the heat to stay cool. there are great shopping areas in cairo also where you can find all kinds of stylish but modest clothes. and the grand mall in maadi is pretty good also. hope it helps
