Bahamas: Moving:
We found Nassau to be a good place to live-quiet, expensive, but safe, clean and the water sports were great. We loved Paradise Island, which is very safe. Some homes were broken into, but having a dog in your yard is helpful. As for the financial end, I'd say consult the newspapers for comparisons as I'm not from the UK. Look up the UK women's Club and you might find a contact online and see if you can get advice or a phone # to call someone.
Hong Kong: Moving young family to Hong Kong from UK:
Living in Stanley or Tai Tam might also be options.
Hong Kong: Housing in hk:
Why not call a real estate company and talk with them? You'd be able to get a 3 bedroom apt. for that. The size, amount of facilities and location would depend on your preferences. There are tradeoffs. If you live away from the city, you have to travel to work, but you may prefer that. If you tell me what you're looking for, I can try to advise you.
Hong Kong: Family Moving to Hong Kong:
Hi,
I'm an American living in Hong Kong with 2 children in primary school. There are many excellent schools here, but before I describe them all, it'd help if you tell me where you're from and what you're looking for. I'm a teacher, so I researched the schools thoroughly. Re: Discovery Bay. ..I live in a townhouse in Shouson Hill and love it, but townhouses are expensive. HK has areas for the children to play and some condo apts have areas where the children can ride their bikes. Your budget will determine where you want to live, but Stanley is a lovely place with more greenery. It's very safe too. Please email me with more questions if you'd like.

Hong Kong: need domestic help?:
I've heard many people abuse their helpers here because they want them to cook an early breakfast and a late dinner. WHat a shame. I'll keep your fiance in my prayers. Did she find a job yet? I guess you met her while you were on vacation in Hong Kong? Anyway, let me know if she has a job yet.

I'm sorry I can't help you, but I was hoping you might be able to help me. My 2 nephews are 8 and 6 and are as small as 3-4 yr. olds. They may be slow growers, but we don't know. They think they have delayed growth syndrome but it's very difficult for them as I"m sure you know. Can you direct me to a place where I might be able to find out more info?

Bahamas: Happy to share....:
Hi there,
I used to live in Nassau and a few other Caribbean islands. I've found you need to call directory and ask Immigration for more info. You can also ask the moving company and the HR person in your company if they've moved people there before. I also found one person's lonnggg posting to be extremely long and negative. I loved living in Nassau.
