Panama: family retiring w/one kid:
There are many beatiful places to live in Panama, and the cost of living is almost nothing compared to the US. I lived there for a year in the 80's. And spent 6 weeks there last year. I am planning on building a house in Santa Catalina. If you have any questions my e-mail is skeksie809@hotmail.com
Panama: Will my 7 year old american twins thrive if we move to Panama?:
Speaking from personal experience I believe any child will thrive there. My father worked in Panama back in the 80's. Myself and my younger sister lived there with him for some time. Nicole was 6 and I was 9. Nicole stayed for only 4 months because she missed my mother. But I lived there for nearly a year. After only 2 months we were both nearly fluent in spanish and had made friends with many local kids. I spent 6 weeks there last year and look forward to going again next month. I also plan to build a home in Santa Catalina by years end. I consider Panama as much my home, if not more than any other place I have lived.
