Australia: Americans in Sydney?:

Hi to all of you. I lived in Sydney for 2 years, then Auckland for three years now moving back to Sydney. Are you guys adjusted? I'm sort of freaking about it because my husband and I had always talked of going back to the US and now that's looking more and more unlikely. I liked Sydney but I feel guilty about not being able to see my mother and miss my friends (still). It must get easier!? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Australia: Sydney vs US:

My husband and I are currently trying to decide the best place to raise our (now 2 year old) child. The choices are Sydney or somewhere in the US. We are temporarily living in Auckland NZ. I am American/my husband is Aussie. I don't know much about the school system in Australia but all my husbands friends seem to think private is the way to go. We have friends in both places but fear if we move to where my friends are in the US, we might have to go elsewhere for a job and end up away from our friends anyway. Any feedback would be helpful.

New Zealand: moving to get married:

Hi My e-mail address is sjannot@xtra.co.nz. I am an American living in Auckland. I just cut out of the paper a company called kiwitrek.co.nz that help people w/ immigration to NZ - phone 09 360 3281, fax 09 360 2180. Otherwise there American Consulate has a web site. Good luck! Susan

New Zealand: Moving to Auckland:

Used to live in Tallahassee myself! Cost of living in NZ depends on if your spending US $ - if so it's good! The kiwi dollar is less than .50 US. Housing is not cheap but the food is reasonably priced and of excellent quality. My experience has been that I really like the country - being an expat is hard if you don't know many people. Travelling in NZ I think you will enjoy. I assume you have done your research. We have been most places on the north and south island so if you'd like any specific info let me know. Do you plan to spend much time in Auckland? My family and I will be heading to the US also in July. Cheers. Susan
