Morocco: looking for Cheddar Cheese in Rabat:

The Carrefour on Rue de Zaers carries a farmhouse cheddar that is very good, but expensive. They are the only place in Rabat that I know carries it.

Morocco: Using an iphone:

I wish I knew what is was called, but maybe you can do some research- there is something you can buy in the States that sits under the sym card and allows you to use a Maroc Telecom sym card without your iPhone recognizing it. The problem with unlocking the iPhone and then using the Maroc Telecom sym card is that if you ever try to get updates to you phone, use the internet, or snyc your phone to your computer Apple will detect it and immediately shuts down (essentially destroys) your phone and you'll be unable to use it. With the thing that sits under the sym card you can add apps to your phone, go online, get updates- everything you do in the States, but you're not on a plan.

Morocco: Broadband speed:

I don't know how to give you all the info you're asking for, but I can tell you that the connection here is insanely slow. This is the discussion with many of my friends, so I know it's not just mine.

Morocco: books on Morocco:

There is an excellent book called "Culture Shock: Morocco" that explains so much about the culture and daily way of life here. Understanding the reasons why people do and say what they do here has been far more important than knowing where things are located. Good Luck!

Morocco: Shipping from US:

you can't get baking powder, baking soda or chocolate chips here. There's nothing like chocolate chip cookies to relieve a little homesickness!

Morocco: Receiving mail in Rabat:

Hi- I have been living in Hay Riad Rabat for about a month and my mom sent me several boxes from the states and I have not yet received them. She sent them 2 weeks ago and was told they would arrive here in 1 week. How do I know which Poste Moroc office I should check with, or is there another way to try and find them. Or are they still on their way to me, inshallah :). Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
